Object history
From the effects of the late Tom Henderson, Old Manse, Lerwick, who came from Spiggie, Dunrossness. It came from Peter Person's smithy at the head of the large pier at Walls. The figurehead was mounted above the smithy door. The figurehead was popularly know as 'Lord Kitchener', although it resembles more closely General Gordon. Who it represents or which ship it is from is unknown.
