Formerly at Fishmongers Hall.
Vessel history
A 52-gun frigate, launched at Portsmouth Dockyard in 1829. She was commissioned in 1832. Her early years were spent on the South America Station. From 1845, she was the flagship at the Cape of Good Hope and her crew were involved in the suppression of the slave trade between Madagascar and the mainland. Between 1853 and 1857 she was the flagship on the Pacific Station. The ship took part in the unsuccessful Anglo-French attack on Petropavlovsk in 1854. From 1862 onwards, 'President' was used as an RNR drill ship in London. She was sold for breaking up in 1903.
