HMS Nelson, HM Naval Base Portsmouth
Three-quarter-length female figurehead in classical dress with long hair. She has a shell on her headdress, and holds a garland of leaves. Another garland of leaves surrounds her neck.
A training brig launched at Pembroke Dock in 1890. She provided sea going experience for boys from HMS 'St Vincent', a training ship based at Portsmouth. After training in handling sails was officially ended in 1902, the ship was no longer needed and became a coal hulk 'C 23' in 1907.
